So! Our production line looks a little like this:

  • Deborah writes the script

  • Deborah does initial layout of panels and basic 3D model posing in Clip Paint Studio, and puts in speech bubbles based on the script

  • Mondays: Jason grabs the CLIP file, tweaks the panels and the poses.

  • Mondays and Tuesdays: Jason sketches over the models, creating backgrounds and foregrounds

  • Wednesdays and Thursdays (but in actuality, can take up till Wednesday of the following week) Deborah grabs the completed sketches, and does the flat coloring on various layers. This looks Fauvist, because it doesn't matter what color she uses; she's just creating boundaries for Jason to use later.

  • Wednesdays and Thursdays: Jason grabs LAST week's completed flat colors and shades them, finishing the page and polishing it.

  • Friday, Saturday, Sunday: DO OTHER STUFF.

So, at this point, Page 1 of the comic is done and polished, page 2 is flat-colored, and Page 3 is waiting to be put into production on 7/7.

Why a week to do each page? Frankly, it's to avoid burnout. Jay already has a full-time job. He would like the comic to be a hobby, not a second job.
